The Last Revelation introduces Lara's mentor, Werner Von Croy, and tells a bit about Lara's youth when she was sixteen years old. Also, we meet an old friend of Lara's, Jean-Yves.

Tomb Raider Chronicles

Tomb Raider Chronicles reveals more about Lara's past and introduces new characters that have crossed paths with Lara.

The Angel of Darkness

Due to the new gameplay element, the interaction with different characters through dialogue that often has multiple lines to choose from, there are much more characters in The Angel of Darkness compared to the previous games.

The main storyline centers around Lara Croft and her quest to clear her reputation from being the main suspect on who murdered her mentor, Werner Von Croy. She's also trying to track down the real killer, and find out more about the Monstrum.

Tomb Raider Legend

The character playing the main role in Tomb Raider Legend, besides Lara, is her former friend Amanda Evert. At first it is unknown that she is such an important figure in the storyline as she hides behind James Rutland and his mercenaries. Another foe Lara encounters is the Yakuza Shogo Takamoto who stands between her and a piece of Excalibur. Lara is supported by many friends in this adventure; her butler Winston, her two assistants Zip and Alister and her friends Anaya and Toru Nishimura. The story centres around Lara's search for her mother Amelia Croft who is often mentioned and seen in flashbacks.

Tomb Raider Anniversary

Although the main storyline in the remake follows the events of the original Tomb Raider, the element of the quest to find Lara's lost mother, Amelia Croft, has been integrated as a part of the story. Lara's father's notes on his search for the Scion and finding Amelia can be heard throughout the game.

Tomb Raider Underworld

Tomb Raider Underworld continues the story on where Tomb Raider Legend ended. As Amanda Evert told Lara in the end of Tomb Raider Legend that Lara's mother isn't actually dead, but she's trapped in Avalon, Lara sets out to find this mythical place.

The quest to Avalon also reveals some parts of the Croft Family's history as Lara visits the Croft Family Crypt. In addition, more of Lara's father's involvement with Natla is revealed.

Endurance's survivors

There are basically two groups of human characters on the island, the Endurance survivors and the scavengers.

Endurance Survivors

Lara Croft
Conrad Roth - Captain of the Endurance
Samantha Nishimura - A female crewmember of the Endurance and Lara's close friend. Taken hostage by the scavengers early on.
Dr. Whitman - A scientist on board the Endurance, strangely fascinated with the scavengers culture.
Alex Weiss - Endurance's technician
Angus Grimaldi‎ - Helmsman and first aid officer of the Endurance
Jonah Maiava - Ship's cook
Joslin Reyes - The mechanic of the ship

Scavengers

Mathias - A scavenger who pretends to be not one of the group, he takes Sam captive.
Vlad - A Russian scavenger who assaults Lara and becomes her first kill.

Stormguard

A third group of people on the island are the Stormguard, but if they are still human is doubtful. They are accompanied by Oni, big daemon like soldiers.
