|Voice||Alex Désert (in Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Underworld)|
Zip is an old friend of Lara's appearing in Tomb Raider Chronicles, Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Underworld.
He is a computer specialist and helped Lara getting into the Von Croy Skyscraper in New York in Tomb Raider Chronicles. He returns in Tomb Raider Legend, where he supports Lara from home, via her headset. He often gives her hints, making the game easier for the player, which was a major complaint by the more advanced gamers. He works with Alister Fletcher. In Tomb Raider Underworld he returns yet again as Lara's aid.
He should not be confused with Bryce, who plays a similar role in the Movies.
Tomb Raider Chronicles
In Tomb Raider Chronicles, Zip appears in the final three levels while Lara is infiltrating Von Croy's VCI headquarters. He provides hints and tips as to where Lara should go, he is mostly only heard via the headset Lara wears, but is seen a couple of times in the van outside the VCI building
Set up his own surveillance company and as a disgruntled ex-employee of VCI jumped at the chance of working with Lara.
Tough street upbringing, showed unusually high level of intelligence in computing.
Youngest ever employee of Von Croy Industries, although his computing interests weren't always appreciated by the US government, hacking regularly into the FBI just because he could! Unfortunately this pastime led to his being the yougest ever ex-employee of VCI.
Tomb Raider Legend
In Tomb Raider Legend Zip chats with Lara via the headset alongside with Alister Fletcher during her adventures in the seacrh of the Excalibur.
Description from the official site
Zip is the tech guy of Lara's team, responsible for providing technical and logistical support for Lara's endeavors worldwide - he's the guy in the van or the server room at Lara's Mansion, and Lara's constant remote companion via radio headset. A wisecracking guy who's part ultra-techno-geek and part street savvy. He used to be over the top, but a few years in prison toned him down a notch and increased his resentment towards all things establishment. A former computer hacker, he works with Lara for the challenge and the thrill of it. He's personally loyal to Lara, and it really is the most fun he can have without getting arrested.
Tomb Raider Underworld
After assisting Lara in the Mediterranean and Thailand, alongside Alister, as usual, events in the Croft Manor, in the third part of the game, will take a surprising turn.
While Lara is researching the catacombs underneath Croft Manor, a doppelgänger infiltrates it and shoots Zip in the leg. When the real Lara returns from her underground exploration and finds Zip and Winston trying to exit the burning Manor via the front door, Zip deliberately shoots at Lara thinking she has turned evil, while telling Winston to get down. The butler tries to stop Zip, to which he replies "Get off me!" and continues to shoot at Lara. In return, she dives out of the way and pulls out her guns, aiming at Zip, to which she exclaims "Drop it Zip, or I'll drop you!". Afterwards the two have a little talk in which Lara convinces Zip that it was not her who entered the Manor's vault and then caused an explosion.
Zip is devastated when he sees that his friend Alister has been killed by the doppelgänger and in his anger accuses Lara of not caring when she decides to continue on her mission. However after clearing his head Zip continues to help Lara and helps her finding a path to Valhalla as well as Amanda and Natla in the Andaman Sea.
