The T-Rex is an incredibly lethal adversary. One of the largest enemies in the original game, the T. Rex's long legs make for a large stride that can quickly gain on Lara and it's huge jaws can cause massive damage.
In the original Tomb Raider and also in Tomb Raider II and Tomb Raider III, the T-Rex can be defeated by simply shooting at it. It's good to find a safe spot e.g. a doorway from where to safely shoot the enemy, since the T-Rex is too big and clumsy to follow Lara there.
Explosive Ammunition might come in handy when fighting, since they cause fairly much damage. But finding the ammunition isn't simple because of their rarity, unless one decides to cheat.
In Tomb Raider Anniversary it is almost mandatory to know how to perform an Adrenaline Dodge and a Headshot succesfully to beat the T-Rex. The goal in the fight is to get the enemy to hit the wooden spikes located around the area several times to launch an Interactive Cutscene where Lara finally defeats the T-Rex.
