The Folding Ledge (also Collapsible Ledge) is an obstacle found in several of the Tomb Raider and Lara Croft Games. These are often timed and usually serve as a walkway. Sometimes, just like with the similar Collapsible Floor, these can turn into a trap when there is a danger (a deep chasm, lava or spikes) underneath them. The difference here is that folding ledges remain functional and can be flipped up or down again. A folding ledge can also serve as a trapdoor when it blocks an opening.

Tomb Raider II
- The Great Wall
- The first time this obstacle is found in Tomb Raider II is in the level The Great Wall. In a corner of the first tower of the wall Lara finds a Trapdoor-like folding grate that drops her down into a pool of water when she steps on it. Later throughout the same level Lara is faced by the very similar collapsible floor.
- Venice
- Inside the building at the canal in Venice Lara is faced by a series of folding platforms that again act like trapdoors. These are controlled by Small Push Switches.
Tomb Raider III
In Tomb Raider III these were found in the South Pacific Section.
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
In Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris these are found from the second level onwards.
- Tomb of the Timekeeper
- In Tomb of the Timekeeper the first set of three of these ledges is controlled by a Turnstile lever. The turnstile lever is a timed trigger turning this into a timerun.
- Tomb of the Lamplighter
- In the Tomb of the Lamplighter a set of three double folding ledges in controlled by a Pull Switch and, as the nature of the trigger dictates, these are timed.
