Tomb Raider II - Golden Mask is an expansion of Tomb Raider II, by adding the adventure: The Golden Mask, consisting of four levels with a bonus level. The first three Tomb Raider games included add-on adventures which were released at a later date as an expansion of the Tomb Raider game it complimented.

Synopsis

During the course of her day-to-day investigative research, Lara comes across some clues referring to a small island in the Bering Sea - Melnikov Island; a faded photograph shows an Inuit whale-hunter holding what looks like an ancient Golden Mask; an old newspaper from 1945 mentions a conflict over an Alaskan gold discovery; and a secret blueprint in Russian outlines some kind of fortified military minebase. Locked into the idea of uncovering the Mask, Lara discovers that it might be the long-lost Golden Mask of Tornasuk - a 'Greater Spirit', said to bestow powers of re-animation on the mask holder.

Summary:

Join Lara as she searches for The Dagger of Xian: an artifact hidden in an ancient Emperor's palace within the Great Wall of China. Legend has it that whoever drives the Dagger of Xian into their heart, acquires the power of the Dragon. The game begins at The Great Wall of China as Lara searches for the doors to the Emperor's palace. As the doors open, the plot un-folds sending Lara to the far off locations of Venice, Tibet and a sunken ship in search of clues...

Introduction:

Legend has it that when you drive the Dagger of Xian into your heart, you acquire the power of the dragon. Literally.

In Ancient China, the Emperor was the holder of this power and with his army alongside him, he was a force to be reckoned with. Thus he staked claim to the vast lands that are China.
His final battle however ended in defeat. While people fell into submission all around him, the Warrior Monks of Tibet would not relent and courageously fought against his evil. Knowing the power of the dagger, they succceded in removing it from the Dragon Emperor's heart - reducing him and his army to carnage. The dagger was returned to its resting place within The Great Wall and locked up for all time...

Now three parties hold the dagger close to their heart. And all for entirely different reasons.

Lara, forever the adventurer, is one of these. In her travels, she will encounter the other two...
