After the events of Tomb Raider (2013) Lara has to come to terms with what it means to be an adventurer. Looking for a fabled artefact, the Divine Source, said to grant immortality, she first travels to Syria only to find the tomb of the undying Prophet empty. Trinity, the shady organization already hinted at in the reboot, is also looking for the artefact and makes life for Lara rather hard. Not giving up so easily she decides to continue her father's research and follows the trail to Siberia in order to find the lost city of Kitezh together with her good friend Jonah. They get separated in an avalanche and Lara has to fight her way through the Trinity soldiers awaiting her alone. But is she really alone? A mysterious group of people called the Remnant is also fighting Trinity and their leader Jacob seems to know more than he is letting on... Gameplay Elements
Rise of the Tomb Raider's gameplay is similar to that of the Reboot. As before, the bow is again the iconic main weapon of the game, but a wide variety of rifles, shotguns, and pistols is available. The new Combat Knife can be used not only to kill stealthily, but enables Lara to cut ropes. Lara's gear has been expanded as well: Besides her trusty Climbing Axe, of which she now has two, she carries Glow Sticks that illuminate dark passages without the need for torches. Other gear items and weapons like the Lock Pick can be gained by completing side missions or be bought in the Supply Shack. A wide range of Secret Tombs can be explored and a lot of other Secrets like Documents and Relics make a reappearance. | Rise of the Tomb Raider Levels
There are 15 Locations and 43 Base Camps in Rise of the Tomb Raider; seven of these Base Camps are located in Challenge Tombs. There is one additional Location and two more Base Camps in the Baba Yaga: The Temple of the Witch DLC, bringing the total up to 16 Locations and 45 Base Camps. There are 43 Levels spread across Syria and Siberia, the table below shows where each level begins (but not necessarily where it ends). The Baba Yaga DLC is not divided into levels, as it is independent of the normal game's progress, but rather into separate missions, which are listed below instead of levels. Note that these missions do not necessarily start in the Wicked Vale but may start in the Soviet Installation. |
