The Ankh is an artefact that's used as a key found in the level Sanctuary of the Scion in the original Tomb Raider.
There are two Ankhs to be found in the level, and they're placed onto their receptacles high on the sphinx's head. They're both guarded by lone centaurs.
Appearance
A plain, non-decorated ankh symbol of light colour.
Powers
The Ankh is not known to have any special powers. When placed on to their receptacles on the large sphinx's head, the Ankhs open a door, which leads further into the depths of the Sanctuary of the Scion.
