Richard Croft was an archaeologist and unbeknownst to his daughter Lara, a member of the Illuminati. He was the right hand of the leader of the order. Within the order, Richard Croft was the mentor of Manfred Powell.
Death
In 1985 Manfred Powell murdered his former mentor. The exact date is not known. Lord Croft was proclaimed missing in the field on the 15th of May 1985.
Legacy
Lara finds an old letter from her father hidden in the library of Croft Manor telling her about the Illuminati's agenda.
