Full Story

Lara is climbing in a snowy mountain region to recover a unique artefact, a crown, of whose existence, she believes, no more than fifteen people even know. When another party interested in getting the item arrives in a Red Baron plane and starts shooting at her, she reminisces of her time in school, when she was on her way to become a spoiled brat, as she herself calls it.

(in the past) When her paper on King Arthur's Legend does not meet the expectations of one of her teachers, Mr. Bohannon, he confronts Lara, telling her, that she is one of the brightest students he's ever met, but that she fails to apply herself in any way. He threatens to inform her father about her behaviour and that considering her "abysmal grades", the school is considering her expulsion. Lara replies, that he would not dare, as the school would lose the generous donations her father makes.

Lara continues her escape from her enemies.

(in the past) While Lara is doing gymnastics in the garden of Croft Manor her father and the family bodguard Hartford Compton talk. Compton suggests that Lara could participate in the Olympics with her talents, but Lord Crofts calls it "neanderthal activities", not worthy of her daughter. Once her father has left, Lara asks Compton to show her how to work a gun.

Lara manages to fend of her attackers by killing the pilot and thus causing the plane to crash.

(in the past) Aboard the Croft private jet Lara is sitting with her fiancée Roger and her parents. The plane catches fire and crashes, killing all aboard, except Lara. She is forced to escape the plane and learn to survive on her own for weeks. When she seeks shelter in a cave, she stumbles across a dead adventurer. Digging through his bag for anything helping her to survive, Lara finds a beautiful ornate chalice in his possession. She realizes he was a treasure hunter and thus finds her new passion.

To make things right with her former teacher, Lara sends Mr. Bohannon the crown she's retrieved, which has belonged to King Arthur once.
