Professor Eddington is a lesser character in Tomb Raider Underworld though he doesn't actually make an appearance.
He can point Lara in the direction her father had taken by telling her the coordinates Lord Croft wanted to investigate next. But, he could not tell her if the existence of a ruin at the location had been confirmed.[1]
