The Sanglyph is an ancient artifact of immense power created by the Black Alchemist, Pieter Van Eckhardt. The Sanglyph was seperated into five pieces and hidden inside five Obscura Paintings that depicted evil images which was made by Pieter Van Eckhardt. He did this to keep it from being discovered and from falling into the wrong hands since he needed the Sanglyph to revive the Nephilim race.

When Pieter Van Eckhardt was originally defeated by the Lux Veritatis, Brother Obscura confiscated the five Obscura Paintings made by Pieter Van Eckhardt and hid them, thus dispersing the five pieces of the Sanglyph.

Creation

In the 15th century, Pieter Van Eckhardt prepared to resurrect the extinct Nephilim race and for that he created an artifact which would be able to contain immense power in which he named The Sanglyph. The artifact was made up of five seperate, metallic parts which all beared a special symbol of their own. In order to wield it, Pieter Van Eckhardt created a seperate accessory known as glove, which was also created by him at that time The Sanglyph was made.

Discovery

In 2003, once Pieter Van Eckhardt regained all the Obscura Paintings, he assembled the Sanglyph once more, in a final attempt to revive the Sleeper. He failed, and the Sanglyph used by Lara to destroy both Joachim Karel and the Sleeper.

Appearance

Round, circular and metallic object with diffrent kind of symbols and holes for the bearers fingers.

Powers

The Sanglyph grants the bearer the power to manipulate energy into the form of purple beams and orange flames, with high velocity. It can also create energy barriers which allow no physical passage through them. Finally, the Sanglyph can make identical copies of the bearer and use the clones as weapons.
