Gods are encountered as plot devices, villains or dei ex machina in some of the Tomb Raider games. Mythologically speaking it is stating the obvious to describe gods as beings of extreme power, and therefore if they turn up as an enemy in a Tomb Raider game, they are generally impervious to Lara's weapons. Some of them sport characteristics such as wings or the power to cast fire.
The following list shows gods associated with the Tomb Raider series.
- Shiva - statues of Shiva are enemies in Tomb Raider III. Shiva appears in Tomb Raider Underworld as a statue puzzle, the other half of which is Kali.
- Seth and Horus - The Last Revelation.
- Thor and Odin - Tomb Raider Underworld.
