A Mobile Game is a video game played on a Mobile Phone, Smartphone, PDA, or hand-held computer. This does not include games played on handheld video game systems such as PlayStation Portable, PlayStation Vita, Game Boy or Nintendo DS, although there might be adapted or ported versions of games available for such mobile or stationary consoles, or even for stationary consoles and PCs.

There are several adaptation as well as original games for J2ME capable pre-smartphone-aera mobile phones. Many of these are now hard to come by legally, as there are only a fraction of new phones that support J2ME these days and most providers have stopped supporting them.
