Current

On August 18th (Xbox 360) and September 28th (PC and PS3) Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (short GoL), a game set apart from the regular Tomb Raider Series, is released. The game features a new concept with an isometric camera and a Multiplayer Mode. GoL is the first game that is not a part of the regular series but is released for the current gaming platforms.

Game Elements

A Tomb Raider game usually consists of several levels of different length. In the Classic Tomb Raiders, as well as The Angel of Darkness a game section (taking place at the same location) consisted of several levels. Since Tomb Raider Legend and the usage of a streaming engine, a division of the sections is unnecessary. Only tradition brought back several levels in one location in Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Underworld.

Important in-game elements in Tomb Raider are Enemies, Traps and Puzzles.

Tomb Raider Series

Currently the Tomb Raider series consists of 8 games, of which one will be released at the end of the year, and a remake. For three of these games an add on has been released. The first five games are also referred to as Classic Tomb Raiders, the sixth instalment The Angel of Darkness is the only one of its generation and with Tomb Raider Legend the current generation began.

Other Games

Besides the regular games, which were released for PC and gaming consoles, there is also a number of other games.
