Niflheim, also known as the World of Mist[1], is a location Lara visits in Tomb Raider Underworld.
In Norse mythology, Niflheim is one of the primordial realms with ice and cold. It later became the abode of the goddess Hel and the afterlife for those who didn't die gloriously in battle. [2]

Lara writes the following notes to her journal about the location:
Niflheim - World of Mist. One of the nine worlds of Norse mythology, linked by Yggdrasil, the World Tree. While it seems clear that Niflheim is an underworld metaphor, original sources are contradictory as to whether it is distinct to Helheim, where those who did not die gloriously in battle go after death.
