Nagas are enemies Lara will face in the Thailand levels, in Tomb Raider Underworld.
Nagas, in mythology, are half women half snake creatures [1] and are usually larger than normal humans.
Fan speculation
In a promotional image from Eidos, it has been revealed that the in-game Nagas are actually quadruped lizards that will (in great number) snoop around the temple and attack Lara with acid and their claws. They are ordinary enemies, and not bosses. They've also been seen in the second official trailer attacking Lara and are shown to be very fast and aggressive.
In the Beneath The Surface Eidos interview[2], Lara can be seen facing nagas at the bottom of Shiva's statue and in another scene a red naga can be seen climbing a wall trying to reach Lara (who is also climbing), and it can be seen that they are considerably larger than Lara. They snoop around Shiva's temple, but at first aren't bothered with Lara, and flee when she gets close to them. There are two kinds of nagas - green ones that can spill acid trough their mouths and red ones who have a special charge attack. They are very fast and attack in groups, forcing Lara has to kill them. They can be killed by shooting or kicking, or stunned with the tranqulliser gun.
