Paris, the capital of France is one of the locations in The Angel of Darkness.

Lara journeys to Paris to meet her old mentor Werner Von Croy. When after an argument with her, Werner is found dead, she is suspected to have murdered him.

Lara has to flee from the police, while solving the mystery around the Monstrum which is resposible for the killings.

Her first stop is Margot Carvier's Appartment, to pick up a diary Werner entrusted her with. However Carvier does not trust Lara and is not willing to help her any further. She calls the police instead.

Lara then hides in the Parisian Ghetto where she hopes to find a man called Bouchard, a man who was in contact with Werner before he was murdered. His nightclub, le Serpent Rouge has shut down and Bouchard is in hiding. Lara can track him down and he sends her to the Pawnshop of Daniel Rennes to pick up some gear.

When Lara arrives there, she bumps into a strange man who is just about to leave. Rennes is already dead. When she enters the vault to get her gear, a bomb is triggered and Lara narrowly escapes alive.

A strange smoking man, we later learn that his name is Kurtis Trent is sitting on a nearby jetty watching Lara.

After leaving the Parisian ghetto, Lara makes her way into the Louvre to continue Margot Carvier's work in finding an entrance to the Hall of Seasons, below the Louvre. There one of the Obscura Paintings had been hidden.

Her last stop in Paris is the Apartment of Werner von Croy. Where mercaneries slip in and try to eliminate her.
