The Tripwire can be a trigger for a trap or a trap itself.
Lara finds tripwires in Tomb Raider III, in High Security Compound and Area 51 and in Tomb Raider Legend, Japan - Meeting Takamoto.
The tripwire consists of a fine wire, usually located near the floor that, one touched by Lara, will either hurt her or set off a gun turret. The wire is often hard to spot and coloured light green or yellow, sometimes red.
