Fan speculation
In a promotional image from Eidos, it has been revealed that the in-game Nagas are actually quadruped lizards that will (in great number) snoop around the temple and attack Lara with acid and their claws (ref?). They've also been seen in the second official trailer and in some off-screen filmed by fans in GC2008 climbing a statue (ref?).
In the Beneath The Surface Eidos interview, Lara can be seen facing nagas at the bottom of Shiva's statue (ref?), and in another scene a red naga can be seen climbing a wall trying to reach Lara (who is also climbing), it is the first time we have a chance to compare its size to Lara's, which is considerably bigger (?ref?). They will be common enemies and not bosses as expected. They've also shown to be very fast and aggressive.
