The Game Boy is a mobile gaming console build by Nintendo beginning in 1989 and sold throughout the 1990s. It was also redesigned as the Game Boy Pocket and the Game Boy Light, somewhat smaller devices with otherwise the same specifications.

It has since been abandoned for the successors, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, and the Nintendo DS line of mobile consoles.
