There are three '''Tiers''' of [[Upgrades]] for each of the different [[Skills]] ([[Survivor Upgrades]], [[Hunter Upgrades]], [[Brawler Upgrades]]) in [[Rise of the Tomb Raider]]. The higher Tiers can only be unlocked after a certain amount of lower tier skills have been unlocked: Eight for the second tier, 19 for the third. Note that for some of the higher tier skills other specific lower tier skills must be unlocked first; e.g. to unlock [[Triple Shot]] from the second tier, one needs to unlock [[Double Shot]] from the second tier first.
