The '''Unknown Entity''' (known to fans as "Fluffy") is a monster first encountered in [[Peru]] and later in [[Kazakhstan]], brought there by [[Amanda Evert]] by using the [[Wraith Stone]].

The creature's past and even name are unknown; it is contained in a stone called the [[Wraith Stone]] that is found by Amanda in Paraiso. The full extent of it's powers include throwing fireballs, teleporting and merging with other beings - one who obtains the stone can have complete control of the entity.

In [[Bolivia - The Looking Glass]] Amanda will merge with the creature to form the [[Amanda Entity]].

==In Underworld==
After the events of Legend, Lara keeps the [[Wraith Stone]], but it is stolen from her by her doppelganger and given back to Amanda. Amanda later uses it to help Lara fight [[Thralls]] in the Arctic Circle level as Lara goes to find her mother.

The '''Interactive Cutscenes''' are a new feature in [[Tomb Raider Legend]] and are also featured in [[Tomb Raider Anniversary]]. It has yet to be confirmed whether or not this feature will appear in [[Tomb Raider Underworld]].

During interactive cutscenes, players have to press corresponding buttons as they appear onscreen to make Lara perform an action. If they press the wrong button or do not press the button in time, Lara will die.

This device cannot be switched on or off. A similar device appears in the [[Cradle of Life]] film, but features a flip-out video screen as well.

At one point in [[Tomb Raider]], Lara breaks into Natla Technologies and discovers Natla's interest in the [[St. Francis Folly]]. A cut scene shows the Natla Technologies headquarters as a skyscraper set in a cityscape, but it is not immediately clear in which city (or indeed in which country) the building is situated.

It is not clear what products or services the company offers, but they are involved in mining (see [[Natla's Mines]]) and, possibly, genetic engineering.

He has his first appearance in [[Tomb Raider Legend]]. He is first heard along with Zip in the beginning of the Bolivia level. He and [[Zip]] talk to Lara over the [[headset]]. He has just come back from a trip to [[Genoa]], in [[Italy]]. He had originally intended to travel to [[Florence]]. Alister often sounds nervous and does not approve of Lara's more daring antics up to the point of saying that she sometimes frightens him. While he is often in contact with Lara, Alister is not heard for the first half of the Ghana level, during which he is researching on the origin of the sword fragments. [[Amanda Evert]] also cuts their communication. Alister can often be heard bickering with Zip, to whom he provides a foil.

The story revolves around an ancient book ( the book of death ) which contains instructions to the release of the demon of the underground. Because it is really dangerous weapon in wrong hands, the book was protected by the order of light ([[Lux Veritatis]]). It was safe for centuries. But what if there is a traitor inside the order? Then he must be stopped, right? And if so, what will you do, if that traitor is someone you love, someone who´s really important to you? Will you stay on the side of light? Or you´ll help him, although it may cause the apocalypse? This is the first decision that one of heroes from our story has to make.

Kraene - The character whom you play as for the first section of the game. A young woman living in an ancient Babylon. Her father is Gealen, who´s the main priest of the city and member of the order of light. Kraene began the tale when she found out that her father is a traitor. At sixteen, Kurtis underwent the most intense stage of his Lux Veritatis initiation. Upon reaching nineteen, he disappeared and joined the Foreign Legion, changing his name to Trent. He stayed hidden within the Legion for five years but was constantly assaulted by bizarre events linked to the occult. It is here he adopts the nickname "Demon Hunter".

Jill Heaton - She is the one who´s been having interest in legends and tales since she was a child. Now she lives in New York. Lara needs to find her and ask her some questions which could lead her to someone who´s disappeared and she tries to find.

Lux Veritatis

[[Image:Luxveritatis.jpg|right]]The '''Lux Veritatis''' ("Light of Truth") were a secret 12th century Order of warrior monks, an offshoot of the Knights Templar. Dedicated to suppressing evil, particularly works of Sorcery and alchemy. Responsible for destroying [[Eckhardt]], the Black Alchemist, in 1445.

They hid the [[Obscura Paintings]] in the 1400's.

It is said that they posses the three [[Periapt Shards]], artefacts of power, crystalline shards shaped like spearheads, "weapons of light".

[[Kurtis]]' father was the leader of the order, till he and many more were murdered by Eckhardt. Kurtis took over from him, and set out to stop Eckhardt.

The Lux Veritatis is also central to the plot of the fan-created custom game [[Tomb Raider: Legacy]]

The Underwater Jet is one of the most difficult vehicles to handle. Luckily it is voluntarily. You can also reach everything swimming and diving, although the Underwater Jet will make the journey much shorter and you can use it's handy weaponry (it uses [[Harpoon Gun]] ammo). 

A similar vehicle, the underwater sled, is also present in the [[Cradle of Life]] film, which Lara and her cohorts use to travel to the[[Luna Temple]]. The vehicles are eventually destroyed by agents from the [[Shay Ling]].

==Bugs (first level)==
This level was clearly unfinished (as it was thought initially). Playing in debug mode, you can find objects, doors (one has even a lock which you can break using the crowbar), triggers (even for Lara to say something like "I can crawl through this hole in the fence"), and a policeman that will shout and try to arrest you. One amusing fact is the "I lost her" sentence said in french when you loose him.

This I relate to the hurry of releasing the game which itself is full of bugs (3D meshes, textures, objects reapearing, etc.) The most buggy TR ever, but otherwise a good game.

Accused of the murder of her one-time mentor, [[Werner Von Croy]], Lara becomes a fugitive. Following notes written in a journal by Von Croy, Lara races to recover five hidden paintings before a secret organization whose ultimate goal is world domination and immortality; they planned to achieve this by reviving an ancient biblical race known as the [[Nephilim]].

Pieter Van Eckhardt is the main villain in Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness. He was a 15th century alchemist who created a powerful weapon called the [[Sanglyph]]. To keep the Sanglyph safe, Eckhardt split it into five pieces and hid each piece behind five paintings he created, depicting evil imagery.

As time went on, Eckhardt grew ever more evil and powerful, and eventually created an order known as [[The Cabal]], a group of four individuals who all shared the same desire for immortality. To attain this immortality, the Cabal prepared to resurrect an extinct race known as the Nephilim (the product of relationships held between fallen angels and humans). Eckhardt believed that by using the Nephilim he would attain immortality and, in the end, dominate over all. However, an order called the Lux Veritatis (Latin for 'Light of Truth') were able to put a halt on Eckhardt's plans. The Lux Veritatis acquired three ancient weapons of light called the Periapt Shards and, led by Brother Obscura, used them to seal Eckhardt in a deep pit. The seal on Eckhardt would only last if the three Periapt shards were combined. Brother Obscura then confiscated the five paintings that contained the pieces of the Sanglyph, and painted over the previous images of evil with new religious images. These were hidden throughout Europe in locations known only to the Lux Veritatis, and were christened the [[Obscura Paintings]]. A copy was made of each, referred to as the Obscura Engravings, with each engraving containing an encoded map to the location of the original painting.

In 1945, something happened and one of the shards became separated from the other two. Eckhardt escaped the pit he vowed revenge against the Lux Veritatis and revived the Cabal basing it out of Prague. The new Cabal became devoted to hunting down any members of the Lux Veritatis. Eckhardt also managed to obtain the Periapt from the Lux Veritatis. He hid these shards in his old laboratory, deep underground beneath the Strahov, the headquarters of the Cabal. Eckhardt and the Cabal set out to reclaim the five Obscura paintings, in order to acquire the Sanglyph. By the time Lara became involved in the plot, the Cabal had already attained three of the five paintings. Eckhardt then hired Werner Von Croy to find the last two; Von Croy did learn of the location of the fourth painting beneath the Louvre from the Obscura engravings, but he never informed Eckhardt. Von Croy then asked for Lara Croft to assist in finding the paintings.

The Sanglyph whose five pieces are hidden behind the Obscura paintings and gives the bearer immense powersLara found the two remaining paintings in Paris and Prague, though Eckhardt reclaimed from her before retreating to his old laboratory, where he started reviving the Nephilim race. The Cabal had retrieved the last Nephilim specimen from Turkey: a Nephilim body which had been named "the Sleeper". During the final confrontation with Lara, Eckhardt starts the process of reviving the Sleeper. He battles Lara using the Sanglyph, but he is eventually killed by Karel, his right-hand man, who stabs Eckhardt with the third [[Periapt Shard]]. Karel revealed himself to be the last surviving/living Nephilim and that all the people who have helped Lara died at his hands to avoid the destruction of the [[Sleeper]]. He then offers Lara a chance to join him in his resurrection. Lara refuses, and decides to put an end to it by using the Sanglyph on the Sleeper--thus destroying it and Karel.

Amanda and Lara were once exploring a ruined temple together, when they were attacked by a monster. Amanda activated a door-mechanism, which caused the monster to disappear, but also started the collapse of the building. A huge rock buried Amanda's foot and she could not free herself. Lara managed to stop the door from closing for some, but when Amanda couldn't free herself and the water rose over her head, Lara lost her strength and had to let go. Amanda presumably drowned, while Lara got away.

However, as Lara finds out in [[Kazakhstan]], Amanda survived in the tomb in Peru, with the help of the [[Unknown Entity]]. Amanda returns into Lara's life as a formidable adversary determined to harness the power of [[Excalibur]] for herself. It is later revealed that Amanda indirectly caused the death of Lara's mother.

Hi, I'm Jedd Fletcher. "Jedd" is my first name in real life and Fletcher is for Alister, the Tomb Raider Legend character. I'm a big TR fan but have only been able to play Legend thus far. I'm active on the laracroftonline forums and am pleased to be able to edit on this excellent Tomb Raider wiki. I'll strive, together with everyone else here, to expound on Lara's world as best as possible. I do a fair bit of Tomb Raider fanart and fanfiction.
