Kurtis Trent is a new character in Tomb Raider Angel of Darkness (TR6). He crops up several times throughout the game, following Lara like a shadow. In the Ancient Artifact, he joined lara's adventure in the philippines. He has a HK Gun, Twin Shotgun and his magnetic blade that cna be throwned and magnet all magnetic materials.

Biography
Kurtis was born on June 26 1972 in Utah Salt Flats, USA.

He is an ex-Legionnaire and also an experienced warrior with limited occult abilities. From the age of three, he was trained as an initiate in an ancient order called the Lux Veritatis by his father, Konstantin. At the age of 19, however, he disappeared to join the Foreign Legion, and changed his surname to Trent. Here, he adopted the nickname 'Demon Hunter' after being constantly assaulted by bizarre events linked to the occult.

He left the Foreign Legion in 1996, and began freelancing with a variety of mercenary and semi-legal agencies under the direction of Marten Gunderson.

In 2001, just before the events of Angel of Darkness, his father is murdered by Eckhardt. It is here that Kurtis takes on his father's role as the last surviving member of the Order. He is now on a quest for revenge against those that wiped out the Order and killed his father.
In the game
Lara's first contact with Kurtis in the game is in the Café Metro, where he is sitting at a table in a corner. He doesn't speak to her. Their next encounter is in front of the Serpent Rouge, where he flees on his bike. Lara doesn't see him again until after the explosion in the Pawn Shop. He is sitting on a jetty, smoking a cigarette. Again, she isn't able to talk to him. She meets him again in the Louvre, where, in a very tense scene, he disarms Lara and steals her Obscura Painting.

After chasing Kurtis out of the Louvre, Lara is knocked unconscious by a guard. She wakes up to find Kurtis gone and a crystal shard on the ground beside her, which she pockets. Her next meeting with Kurtis takes place in the Strahov in Prague. He tells Lara that she has made a mess and that he has to correct her mistake by turning the power back on, although not before Lara taunts him with the crystal shard.

The player then takes control of Kurtis in three levels (The Sanitarium, Maximum Containment Area & Boaz Returns).

After their meeting in Prague, Kurtis and Lara decide to team up in an attempt to stop Eckhardt. Coming from the Vault of Trophies, Lara finds that Eckhardt has captured Kurtis. She gives Eckhardt the last Obscura Painting in exchange for Kurtis' life, and then the pair are left to the mercy of the mutant creature Boaz.

Using his psychic boost, Kurtis helps Lara to safety and faces Boaz alone. After a gruesome fight, Kurtis defeats his opponent, but is mortally wounded after being stabbed through the stomach.

In the final cutscene, Lara discovers Kurtis' Chirugai lying in a suspiciously large pool of blood. She picks it up, and it directs her towards a nearby doorway, perhaps indicating that Kurtis is still alive and able to wield it.

Fate
There has been much speculation about the apparent 'death' of Kurtis. According to an official interview with Adrian Smith, a part had already been written for his character in the planned second and third games of the Angel of Darkness trilogy. A cliffhanger was introduced regarding Kurtis' ultimate fate at the end of the first game as an insurance policy, depending on fan reaction towards his character.

Theories about his fate are varied. However, as Eidos initially planned to continue the Angel of Darkness story into two more games, it is a safe bet that he survived.

Fanfiction
Although receiving generally poor reviews from the gaming media, Angel of Darkness has inspired quite a number of fanfiction continuations and spin-offs, many focused around or including the character of Kurtis Trent.

Other
Kurtis has gained a lot a enthusiastic, primarily young female fans. While he has gained as much haters as well.
Werner von Croy is an Archaeologist and Lara's former mentor.
When she was 16, he brought her to Angkor Wat, Cambodia for her first adventure. This was in the first two levels of The Last Revelation. Werner wanted to collect the Iris, but in the process he hurt his leg. Since then he had been using a Jackal Walking Stick.

Later in her life Lara stole the Iris, which they got in Cambodia, from him. She infiltrated VCI Headquarters and escaped with the Iris in Tomb Raider Chronicles.

Their next meeting was in Egypt when both were trying to get the Amulet of Horus. Even after Lara got the Amulet the chase continued and both parties went searching for the Armour of Horus in The Last Revelation.
In The Angel of Darkness we learn that Werner was murdered in Paris by the Cabal, or more accurately by Pieter Van Eckhardt.

He was hired by the Cabal to research the Obscura Paintings and locate the fifth painting in the Louvre. The fax-exchanges between him and Mathias Vasiley, who was in possession of the Obscura Engravings, were intercepted by them. Von Croy received four of the Obscura Engravings and was able to locate the fifth painting with it's help. At that point he contacted Lara to help him, and was murdered.

Lara was accused to have killed him. She visited Margot Carvier, his contact working in the Louvre, and also a friend, to get Werner's Diary.
Admiral Yarofev is a character from Tomb Raider Chronicles.

Russian Admiral Yarofev was one of the main enemies in the second story. He was the commander of the u-boat during the submarine levels.

He served his country for years, and was unhappy with the decline of Russia under the control of the Russian mafia. But in order to help his fellow submariners he took a job from a russian mafia boss by the name of Sergei - who wanted to find the spear of destiny

In the last level, he became Lara's friend and helped her escape from the u-boat. He was wounded, and Lara tried to help him, but Admiral Yarofev wanted to die in the u-boat like a good commander. He asked Lara to tell the world about how he tried to bring honour to the motherland.

Pierre DuPont is a character making his appearances in the original Tomb Raider, in Chronicles and in Anniversary.

Lara's first encounter with Pierre DuPont is unknown, as she seemed to know him already when she first met him in the Opera in Rome, in Tomb Raider Chronicles. (This was chronologically their first encounter, as the events of Tomb Raider I / Tomb Raider Anniversary, occurred later in history. - Source: Official Tomb Raider Files)

Tomb Raider Chronicles
(Events occurred before 1996.)

Lara made an arrangement to buy the Mercury Stone from Pierre and his associate Larson Conway. They agreed to meet in the Opera in Rome, Italy.

While discussing the transaction with Larson, Pierre steps in with his pistol loaded. This encounter results in a little fight during which Lara punches Pierre in the face and then flees down to the stage, using the curtain on the way, with the artefact she could manage to get from Larson. Pierre then fires a round of bullets at the stage towards Lara who then storms out of the opera.

In the following scenes Lara is chased though some back alleys behind the opera, riding a motor scooter, followed by Larson and Pierre in a stolen taxi cab. She manages to escape through a lowered gate sliding past underneath.

During the course of the ensuing level she will often encounter the two, and sometimes they will spy on her unnoticed. During one of these events Pierre will prevent Larson from shooting at Lara from the rooftops.

Here most memorable encounter with Pierre during this adventure is when Lara almost fell over the edge of a slope in The Colosseum. She manages to convince Pierre to give her a helping hand, by promising him the Mercury Stone and not to lay a finger on him. After he helps her out of her unfortunate situation, she manages to get behind him and scares him over the edge, simply saying 'boo'. She in turn does not help him up, cruelly honouring the promise not to lay a hand on him. We then hear Pierre fall to his demise. As we later learn he did not die but made his return in the events of the original Tomb Raider.

Tomb Raider / Tomb Raider Anniversary
(Events occurred in 1996.)

In the story of the original Tomb Raider he will attack Lara for the first time in St. Francis Folly (Level 5) where he lurks between the columns. Lara has to chase him away by shooting back at him.

He will be back when you are in the tower with the doors of Damocles, Thor, Atlas and Neptune. He will shoot at you from below.

Lara will meet him again in the next level Colosseum we will attack her upon entering the amphitheatre itself. He will reappear in the Colosseum at a later time.

Two levels later, in the Cistern Pierre is back again.

Also in the Tomb of Tihocan he is back again. Lara will meet him during the level and again at the end for the final showdown. After bringing him down Lara can collect his Magnums and the second part of the Scion.

He is an unlockable character in Tomb Raider Anniversary.

Gone bald!
Pierre's appearance has changed radically for Tomb Raider: Anniversary. He is going to return bald. Complaints by fans are that he looks nothing like the classic Pierre, but rather like Charles Kane.
A fun game that was very popular among the fans was locking Winston in the fridge. In Lara's Home Level you have to run into the kitchen. Open the fridge by using the button. Get inside the fridge and wait for Winston to appear. Then quickly run out leaving him and shut the door again.
from the official Site
Winston is Lara's butler, and he has served the Crofts for most of his life. He's calm, sophisticated, unflappable, and knows more about Lara and her doings than anyone. He worries about her but he knows ho capable she is, and he does nothing to dissuade her from her life's pursuit, and indeed he's just as willing to fetch 9mm ammunition as he is to set out tea service, and he will even toss a few spare ammo clips into her bag without her asking.
Each serpent does not move from the door of the gate, showing their loyalty to protecting the Philosopher's Stone. They can move as shown in the cut scene before Lara fights them but choose not to during the battle. Each serpent can shoot fireballs. You can see the fireball brewing in a serpents mouth before they shoot it, giving you time to prepare to manoeuvre. If Lara is hit by a fireball, she will be set on fire and will die in a few seconds if she had a full bar of health. If set on fire, Lara must run to a nearby pool of water quickly before the flames consume her. The serpents will also lash out if Lara gets too close.

Strategy
By jumping sideways while shooting at them you can avoid the flame bolts. Even when they recharge, they are very weak at that point. Shotgun wideshot ammo tends to be very effective against them.
Larson Conway is a character making his appearances in the original Tomb Raider, the remake Tomb Raider Anniversary and Tomb Raider Chronicles. He did not have a surname in Tomb Raider and Chronicles yet, this was given to him for Tomb Raider Anniversary.

The name Larson, coupled with the character's blond hair, suggests Scandinavian heritage, although Larson himself speaks with a Texan accent. He is portrayed as being something of a halfwit, which Pierre attributes to the fact that Larson was "kicked in the head by a horse" at some point in his life.

Tomb Raider Chronicles
(Events occurred before 1996.)

In Tomb Raider Chronicles, Larson appears in the first two levels of Rome, the first story of the game. Larson is working with Pierre DuPont to gain possession of an artefact that Lara is also in pursuit of.

Larson appears in the pre-story FMV, and also four cut scenes; two in Streets of Rome and two in Trajan's Markets. As well as this, Larson is included as an in-game enemy several times. Although Lara has quite a few shots at killing him, Larson is finally finished off - at least for this game - after being tossed about by a dragon gargoyle.

He obviously survived this attack as he made his return in the original Tomb Raider where we met him for the first time but which was chronologically placed after the Rome events in the Tomb Raider timeline.

Tomb Raider / Tomb Raider Anniversary
(Events occurred in 1996.)

Larson appears as one of Jacqueline Natla's henchmen. After the initial meeting with Lara in Calcutta at the start of the game, Larson appears in Tomb Of Qualopec, both as an in-game enemy, and in the post-level cut scene. After a brief exchange between the two (concerning the Scion and the whereabouts of Pierre DuPont), Larson is knocked out by Lara when he makes a grab for his gun.

Sanctuary of the Scion sees the third and final appearance of Larson. Guarding the second part of the Scion, players are expected to shoot him dead (although can leave him alive if they wish, as is the case with most enemies in Tomb Raider).

At this point it is uncertain if this way his final demise.

He is one of the unlockable characters in Tomb Raider: Anniversary.

Outer Appearance
In Tomb Raider, Larson wears a red shirt, blue jeans and brown boots. He also wears a unbuttoned brown vest in the first FMV. His weapon is a handgun with a lasersight attached.

In Chronicles Larson appears in the same outfit as he wore in the first Tomb Raider, including the vest. His weapon is a Revolver. Both Larson and Pierre are portrayed as a lot more comical in their second Tomb Raider appearance.

In Tomb Raider Anniversary he is wearing a dark-blue shirt instead of his red one we know from the other games.

Trivia
* Larson was the first character ever to speak in a Tomb Raider game.
* For Tomb Raider Anniversary, Larson and the Cowboy were merged into one character.
* Lara has the ability of hand to hand combat

The Viper SMG is guaranteed to take your breath away, as well as the breath of anyone who so much as looks at you funny. It's very accurate at long range, but it's too big to wield effectively at short range.
