Type

Bow

The Makeshift Longbow is a weapon in Tomb Raider (2013) and Rise of the Tomb Raider. It is a type of bow and the first one Lara ever uses. In the reboot she grabs one from an unfortunate hunter and in Siberia in Rise of the Tomb Raider, she creates one herself.

The Makeshift Longbow is also one of the easiest items to create for a Cosplay outfit.

Occurrence

Tomb Raider (2013)

The Makeshift Longbow is the first type of bow obtained in the reboot game, it is also the very first weapon found in the game. The Makeshift Longbow is found in the Coastal Forest during the level Woman Versus Wild. Lara climbs up to a tree, where a Dead Hunter is dangling and takes his bow.

To get used to using the Makeshift Longbow, the player needs to hunt deer during the level.

Throughout the game, the Makeshift Longbow is upgraded first to a Recurve Bow, then to the Compound Bow and finally switched for a Competition Bow.

Rise of the Tomb Raider

In the Siberian Wilderness, after losing most her gear, Lara is forced to create her own Makeshift Longbow. The Makeshift Longbow is one of four bows in the game and can be upgraded 5 times to improve the bow's properties. (In the Siberian Wilderness Demo there are 3 upgrades available.[1])
