Games Convention was an annual video games trade fair, in Leipzig, Germany first held in 2002, which was replaced by Gamescom in Cologne in 2009.
In 2008 Alison Carroll attended the Games Convention as Lara Croft model to promote Tomb Raider: Underworld.
In 2009 the BIU (short for Bundesverband für Interaktive Unterhaltungssoftware, the German Federal Association for Entertainment Software) decided to no longer back the Games Convention but instead organize their own event, Gamescom, in Cologne.
