Crypts are one of the main features in the Endurance Mode, an Expedition type in Rise of the Tomb Raider. In order to find medium (Codices) or large artefacts (weapons parts in sarcophagi) the player has to explore crypts.
Types of Crypts
- The first crypt type is loosely based on Kokkos, the Astronomer's Crypt (from the Soviet Installation region), including the icy cave passage in a pit, with a broken stone bridge above, and the actual crypt at the foot of a path.
- The second one is loosely based on Damien, the Prophets's Forge's Crypt (also from the Soviet Installation), with its blocked entrance to the main crypt that has to be overcome by swimming.
